Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 hd PS Vita review

I've been very busy but i had to review this gem which i recently picked up when i bought a Vita.

For those who may not know the PS Vita is Sony's portable system.  Offering high resolution gameplay and can be synced with a PS3, PS4, or the recently released PS TV.

This classic Final Fantasy PS2 game was the first Final Fantasy released on PS2, was the first game to have voice acting in the series and became the best selling Final Fantasy until Final Fantasy 12 surpassed it few years later.

The revolves around a young woman named Yuna who is a powerful summoner who is destined to gather all the summon animals called Aeons and defeat a creature called Sin.

In the sequel set two years after Yuna and her friends saved the world, Yuna is looking for her boyfriend who disappeared at the end of the first game.

Mass Effect 3 special edition multiplayer tips

Mass Effect 3 special edition is one of the Wii U's best games especially online wise.  So I've decided to give six character class setups that I have found work well.  Point out though these characters are all unlockable ones and you may have to unlock one or all before using but I going to give tips in this post that can help with any character as well.

Adept: Drell
Drell has three powers and two buff stats which all characters have.  I have found when setting up any character to focus the most on one power and then lightly fill in the others while also maxing out the buffs

For the Drell I recommend going 6 points on it's reave power.  Reave steals health from enemies and gives it to you.  It also has a great ability to light up enemies then follow up with your second power pull.  When an enemy has been hit with reave and pull together it causes a biotic explosion.  Cluster grenades I have found not that effective on higher difficultly.  So only give them three points.  Your two buffs one increases offense while other defense, on the offense add as much power attack strengh as possible and some weapon damage, on defense spend all ranks on health and shields.
Weapons
I use the m-12 locust smg and the m-5 phalanx pistol, the idea is being as light as possible to have faster power use.  The heavier your weapon loadout the slower your power recharge.

Solider
Turian
Turians have two possible setups that both work well depending on your style.  First is more in your face offense with the concussive shot.  The second is being more sealthy with the proximity mine.  Now me personally I like the concussive shot style which the way you can use it effective is attack with your rifle or shotgun after hitting enemies with it since it knocks them down and stuns them.  Proximity mine is used to create traps for enemies, aim towards the ground near enemies and when in its range it goes boom.  Now on your buffs you want to focus more on weapon damage this time and as always health and shields

The Phaeston and M-23 katana
Obviously you are going heavier here and the guns do more of your work then in the adept where it's power based

Engineer
Geth
Engineer is the class that uses tech for butt kicking and this robot character is no different.  The setup involves really one power your sentry turret.  This turret will get most of your kills for you using its flamethrower.  Boost power strengh and health and shields.

Weapons
You really can't go wrong because the turret doesn't have a power recharge like Dwell powers so can go heavy or light.
I use the Phaeston and the M-97 viper sniper rifle

Sentinel
My favorite character the Batarian
Submission Net captures your enemies then you shoot them, blade armor increases your already high health rating, and lastly shockwave allows you to do a biotic explosion to those trapped in the net.  Balance both weapon and power buffs and i know broken record but health and shields

Weapons
I go light i use the light weight assualt rifle M-15 vindicator and the M-12 locust smg

Infiltrator
Quarian
Sticky grenades and sabotage.  Sticky grenades as they suggest stick to targets and go boom they are weaker then some of the other grenade types in the game though.  Sabotage is useless against most enemies but against the robotic race Geth it causes them to cease attacking you and turning on each other.  Boost weapons and health and shields

Biotic charge sends you forward to enemies causing damage and status traps them like the submission net mentioned earlier you can use both to biotic explosion.  Power boosts and you know by now.

Three Days to Kill blu ray review

This is an enjoyable action movie starring Kevin Costner.  Costner plays a CIA agent that put his career ahead of his family and his marriage as well as his relationship with his daughter has suffered.  But, he has terminal cancer and wants to make up for lost time with the little time he has left.  His daughter who is in high school is your typical teenager and gives him a hard time.

A female agent offers him a cure to his disease but there is a catch he has to do one more mission for the agency.  Killing a terrorist known as the Wolf.  But he has promised his family he is out of the spy business so he has to balance being a father while being a spy so they don't know what he is doing.

The building of a father/daughter relationship makes this more then an action movie.  You connect with the characters and want them to create that bond.

Bound by Flame PS4 review

My friends know how much I love RPG games so no surprise for you all my next review is this RPG.  In Bound by Flame you play as a mercenary named Vulcan.  Vulcan lives in a world where powerful warlords use the power of ice to dominate their enemies.

Your clients the Red Scribes a group of wizards try to increase their powers to fight the Ice Lords but during the ritual a demonic spirit enters Vulcan instead.

This demon gives Vulcan pryomancer powers to counter the frozen powers of your enemies.  Pyromancer is one of three abilities you can upgrade as level up through the game.

Warrior offers the ability to use two handed swords, axes and warhammers.  Ranger offers the quicker attacking dual daggers weapons, and the already mentioned pryomancer gives fiery magic attacks.

My favorite thing about this game is the item crafting system.  You can upgrade weapons, armor, craft items, it is very handy in the game.

Often times you can bring one member of the cast of allies you have in the game.  Each have their own talents.  There is a healer, an archer, black mage, warrior, etc...

If you love RPGs this game worth playing while waiting for much more RPGs coming later.

Transformers rise of the dark spark ps4 review

This game has gotten mixed reactions on the internet mainly cause no pvp online play.  PvP is player vs player which has become very common these days.  The other kind of online play is called PvE or co op which is when players team up and play against the game's ai enemies.  I happen to like co op gameplay but I agree with many others there should had been a PvP option.

The major plus for this game is the roster, they basically took every transformer that has appeared in the Cybertron game series and made them available in this one.

Gone is the feature of making a custom transformer like the previous games had.  You can use any two guns in game a primary and a heavy, also choose your ability and use tech bonuses but, changing the bot's appearance is not an option.

This game isn't the worse game ever but, it definately for only the hardcore transformer fan.

Battlefield Hardline Beta impressions

Before I say anything else I want to address a comment that's been going around this game especially on youtube.  There is a lot of people that saying this is battlefield 4 with police, it is not.  Those that say it looks like it, hello it's battlefield did you think the graphics be done differently?

There are a few differences you can spot right away, first the interface is much easier to use then the previous game.  In Battlefield 4 you have to move your spawn spot along the map to find where to spawn.  In hardline there's a list on the right with your teammates as spawns and vechilles available to spawn in.

Another change is a hud that tells you where you are being hit on your body and hits to your limbs such as legs may not kill you but will hinder speed.

There's also an in game money which you can use to unlock anything which is different to Battlefield 4 where you had to grind to unlock weapons and equipment.

Murdered Soul Suspect PS4 review

In Murdered Soul Suspect you are a detective named Ronin O'Connor.  The game is set in Salem.  If that town sounds familar it's cause in early America history Salem had witch hunts and crazy trials.  How crazy?  Get this they threw women with weighs chained to their feet into the water if somehow they find a way to survive they are deemed a witch and burned to death, if they drown they are innocent, so either way you died.

Back to the game, the game begins with Ronin confronting a serial killer called the Bell Tower killer which gets the best of him and you die but unlike most games death isn't game over it just the beginning.  Ronin becomes a ghost unable to join the other side of life until he resolves his death.  He investigates the Bell Tower killer.

Being dead has its perks.  You can enter people's body which allowes you to hear their thoughts, influence their thoughts, easedrop, or even look through their eyes.  You can also enter a cat's body and my friends reading this know how much I love felines.

The cat you can control its movement while humans you can't.  The cat allowes you to get to places you can't.  it can jump areas and climb as well.

There is a ton of collectables throughout the town.  These collectables provide more insight into the game.  There are demons in the game too that want to destroy your soul.  You have to get behind them to take them out.

I am enjoying this game a ton.

Warriors Orochi 3 hyper Wii U review

This one of my first Wii U games and, I thought I already had reviewed it but saw I haven't so now I will.  Now to find this gem you probably have to go to amazon or another online store and will probably get it pretty cheaply as well.

This beat them up game takes you to ancient japan where you have ninjas, samurai, and other martial art warriors.  The game surrounds a demon powerful monster that defeats the heroes in the first mission but before the kill, a mystic woman who has the power of time travel pulls them out and you then use these time travel powers to collect allies which will aide you in the final battle you lost the first time but with their help you save the world.

There is a ton of characters over 100 each with their own style of combat.  There's speedy characters, powerful hulking characters, and magical types as well.  You can form a three member team for your missions.  I tend to take one of each type for a balanced team.

The fact you have so many characters you can style the game however you want it.

Plans for June

I got an email this morning that I am close to my data limit with my internet provider so probably be my last post until June while I stay offline until the data limit resets.  So wanted to go over posts I am planning for June.

I didn't get to the first book of Ranger Apprentice in May, I will review it in June.

Infamous Second Son PS4 review

This game is an exclusive title for PS4.  The first Infamous character Cole has passed on, now there is a new character named Delsin.  Delsin has an ability to learn powers from other people like him through touching them.  He then can learn his own versions within the power he copied.  For example he learns smoke power from his first contact.  He learns how to throw smoke bombs that can help him subdue enemies after that which part him putting his own style to the power.   This game allowes you to be a hero or a villain depending on decisions made.  Different powers will be available depending which direction you take with those decisions.  I really can't comment on the bad side for I played the good which I know for those who know me that's no surprise.

This is one of PS4's best games so far.  I totally recommend it for anyone who owns the system.

Book Thief blu ray review

Before I begin the way Liesel learns to read reminds me how I learned.  At a young age I had a bad ear infection that damaged my hearing in my right ear.  The popular way to teach reading at the time was "hooked on phonics".  How do you learn how to read by sound when you are hard of hearing?

Liesel loses her brother at an early age and was taken away from her mother and placed in the care of another couple.  Her new Mama was very strict, while her new Papa was very kind.  He starts her love for reading.  They would read together and when she came to a hard word she would write it on a chalk board.  Same way I learned except I used notebook paper.

One night a jewish man comes to their door and they hide him in their home from Nazis.  Max and Liesel form a great friendship as he shared her love for reading.  He encourages her to write her own stories as well.

This is a heart warming movie in a sea of all the worthless stuff these days that are made.  I totally recommend this to see.

Mass Effect Revelation book review

This is the prequel of the first Mass Effect game.  In the game  the main character Commander Shepard's mentor is Adrimal David Anderson, this book series is set early in Anderson's career.

Lt. Anderson is the leader of a small N7 unit attached to the SSR Hastings.  N7 is the elite Alliance Marine units.  They get the best training, weapons and armor.  They also get the most dangerous missions as a result.

The Alliance Miltary is the united Earth forces.  Sorta the NATO or United Nations of today.  We are the new kids on the block though.  There's several races that already space traveling around which also have an united govternment.  This counsil consists of Asari an all female blue skinned race, the reptilian Turians, the Sarlardians which look like skinny lizards while Turians look more like they were taken from raptors or t rex looks.

Anderson and his team is sent to a research base but when theh get there everyone has been killed both humans and various aliens.  It's not clear who or what killed them either.  As he investigates he finds the only person that may have answers.

Kahlee Sanders who is a smart young woman.  She had discovered that one of the lead scientists was performing illegal research but before she could report it the attack happened.  Being the only one that knew the truth many are set to kill her and it's up to Anderson to protect her.

MLB the Show 14 PS4 review

This is the first full PS4 review on my blog, I did the brief posts on Battlefield 4 but not really a full on review.  The Show series has been a Sony exclusive title since its debut year in 2006 and in this version the players look so lifelike.  I have a screenshot on my PS4 of one of my pitchers but I don't have access to it at the moment but will add that picture in a later post oh i just had a brillant idea for that, i will post a picture of the player so you can see how real the game looks to real life.

This game has many options to play where it can custom around your prefer style.  Want to just pitch?  Use the skip feature and your team will hit for you and you go right back to mound, you can do the same for just hitting.  Also there's ways to use button controls which pretty traditional to baseball games or do everything with the control sticks.  It's a bit harder then the traditional but I feel it gives more real feeling of playing the real game.

I could go on forever about this game but, i want to get that screenshot uploaded and find a picture to pair with it on my next post. Hope you enjoyed this review.

Spies of Warsaw review

Based off the novel by Alan Furst of same title, this british movie stars former Doctor Who star David Tennant the tenth Doctor.  It is set just before the beginning of world war ii and centers around a French spy who uncovers a plot by the Nazis to go to war.   His superiorities don't listen to his warnings until it's too late.

Son of Batman review

Talia Al Ghoul the daughter of Ra Al Ghoul had a child with Bruce Wayne named Damien.  Bruce never knew he had a son.  Ra is murdered by Deathstroke and Talia sends Damien to Bruce to protect him.  Now for the first 12 yrs of his life Damien has been trained to be an assassin which buts head with his father's ideals.  Often times Batman or Nightwing the orginal Robin and Bruce's adopted son Dick Grayson.  Towards the end though Damien has an opportunity for revenge but decides to follow the wisdom of his father and doesn't kill Deathstroke.

Battlefield 4 assualt loadout

Assualt class uses the ARs in the game most of them do the same damage figures but the Scar H is the powerhouse of the class with a higher rate.  The drawback is 20 per mag instead of the standard 30 most of the others have but if you're accurate that is not a big deal with this gun and unlike one of the carbines with a higher damage rate over other carbines but suffers with bad recoil, the Scar H has a controllable recoil.

As i do with most of my guns i have it supressed for sealth use, i prefer close range optics so on the Scar H i use the reflex red dot, an ergo grip to reduce vertical climb.

Moving to rest of loadout, the FN57 is my pistol of choice and i use it on each loadout.  Gadgets are the M320 LVG grenade launcher btw if you don't have a grip for the gun yet most of the ARs have an option to attach the grenade launcher under the gun which will provide a grip.  Lastly i have the medic bag which can heal you and teammates.

Battlefield 4 campaign review

Now before I begin I want to state there is some story spoilers here but will keep it to as limited as I can.  Campaign mode you are Recker who is a member of a special ops team codenamed Tombstone.  During the game everything you do gives your points get enough points and you can unlock weapons for use.  Unfortunately here comes my first con for this mode the game starts with the Scar H available the best assault rifle in the game which makes unlocking other guns really meanlessness since it's best to stick to it.

The basic story without ruining to much of it a warlord tries to take over china and use the chinese's huge resources to mount a fight against USA and it's up to Tombstone to stop him.

Shadow update

The Vet confirmed what I believed it may had been.  Her bladder is inflamed so was given so meds to treat and changing her food to one that's for urinary tract health.  I am just glad to have her home.

Personal Post

Hey my friends would you pray for my furry friend Miss Shadow.  Shadow is my cat and, last few days she's been having bladder problems an issue she has had before two years ago.  The infection looks to be back.  I have dropped her off at the Vet where they are running tests to check her out.  I am hoping my furry little girl will be fine.

Batman Superman Enemies and Allies review

This story is set during President Eisenhower and the two iconic characters are brand new heroes for their respective homes.  The reaction of both is different though.  Superman is cheered and cherished by the public.  Batman is chased down by the police like a criminal.  A sinister plan by Lex Luthor will send these two heroes on a collision course.  Using corruption within Wayne Tech, he uses Wayne Tech products for weapon making.  When Bruce realizes the strange activity he uses his dark persona to find the corruption.  Clark also becomes aware of Lex's questionable practices but when Superman confronts him, he gets his first effects of Kryptonite.  Batman saves him and though the two don't see eye to eye they agree to team up to stop Lex.

Outlaw by Angus Donald review

This is the first book of a series by English author Angus Donald.  It is told in the pov of Alan Dale who is the newest member of Robin's merry men.  Which gives the reader a newcomer's eye to a culture of fellowship, thievery, conflict and battle against corrupt kingdom.  I couldn't put this thriller adventure down.  I totally recommend this book for all period era lovers, action lovers and adventure lovers.
